The festive season is the “silly season”. Here are some tips to ensure a happy event:

1. Forewarn your employees (plus independent contractors) about what is and isn’t acceptable behaviour. Check internal policies to ensure they address any issues that could arise (e.g. OH&S, bullying and harassment etc).

2. Set a clear start and finish time for the function and ensure your staff are aware that anything occuring outside these times is not on work time. Also check your insurance policy to ensure you are covered for the function.
